Vietnamese delegation is briefed on workings of ICC Arbitration
Paris, 1 October 2007

Three Supreme Court judges were among the delegates

A delegation of 12 Vietnamese judges and arbitrators visited ICC headquarters in Paris last month to meet with representatives of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for an in-depth briefing on the range of services it provides.

Vietnam became the WTO's 150th member on 11 January 2007 and enactment of a new arbitration law is currently underway in the country.

Three Supreme Court judges and representatives from the Vietnam Ministry of Justice, the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry were among the distinguished delegates welcomed to ICC by Emmanuel Jolivet, General Counsel, ICC International Court of Arbitration, and Lara Hammoud, Director, Legal Coordination and Marketing, ICC Dispute Resolution Services.

“Our meeting proved to be highly interactive and informative,” said Ms Hammoud. “ICC was very proud and honoured to meet with such an eminent group of people and to help advance arbitration in Vietnam.”

The day-long visit included direction on ICC arbitration and the other ICC dispute settlement services including, ADR, Expertise and Dispute Boards.
