| ICC pledges support to the rebuilding effort |
14 September, 2001 - People everywhere are shocked by the tragic events of this week. We join them in expressing our heartfelt sympathy and prayers for victims and their families.
Business people in dozens of countries have sent messages of concern - and offers of help - to their peers who were directly affected by the terrorist attacks in the U.S. We thank them, and join them.
This was an attack not against the United States, but against all freedom-loving people and their desire for a safe, open system of travel and trade.
We pledge our continued partnership with businesses everywhere in creating secure and healthy environments for growth, and in maintaining a strong world economy.
We pledge our cooperation and support to the governments and financial institutions of the world as they rebuild and recover from these attacks.
We also pledge our continued resolve to make the world better - for people and for commerce. By working together, we can build new bridges between people, nations and enterprises, for the good of all.
