Paris,
17 May 2004
- ICC's popular online Business Bookstore was relaunched today, featuring
a new "eBook" service that enables delivery of ICC publications
within 48 hours.
Following a major
overhaul of the bookstore website (www.iccbooks.com),
a range of best-selling ICC model contracts, rules and guides in electronic
format can now be conveniently ordered using a new online, secure payment
system.
"This new eBooks
service was created to assist the increasing number of customers who urgently
need to refer to an ICC publication," said ICC Publishing Director
Pascale Reins. "We can now deliver most ICC books direct to customers'
email inboxes. Our eBook delivery is fast. Most requests can be processed
on the same day. The longest a customer will have to wait for an eBook
is 48 hours."
The introduction of eBooks reflects the growing popularity of ICC's online
Business Bookstore which currently services over 60,000 cyber customers
each month.
"The eBooks can
be conveniently printed or stored on computer for instant reference or
access," explained Reins. "For some titles, such as the best-selling
ICC Model Sale Contract, customers are also granted copying rights
allowing for easy use and adaptation."
ICC Publishing has
launched the new eBook service by offering seven titles and one periodical
in easy-to-use PDF format.
The subject matter
ranges from banking practice to international trade. Each has been selected
as a publication that customers may need to refer to rapidly.
The seven titles are:
- International Standard
Banking Practice
- Guide to Export-Import
Basics
- ICC Model International
Sale Contract
- ICC Uniform Rules
for Collections
- ICC Uniform Customs
and Practice for Documentary
Credits
- Electronic Supplement
to UCP 500
- ICC Uniform Rules
for Demand Guarantees
The Business Bookstore
is set to produce more eBooks and periodicals in the near future.
As the publishing
arm of the ICC, ICC Publishing produces and distributes books on all aspects
of international trade. The content of publications derives from the work
of ICC commissions, institutions, and individual experts.
