Rajya V. Kanoria, Chairman and Managing Director of Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Ltd. and President of ICC India, has been appointed Chair of the ICC Commission on Trade and Investment Policy, ICC’s main working body on multilateral trade and investment policy issues.
Mr Kanoria, a long-standing member of the Commission and its Vice-Chair since 2007, was appointed Chair of the Commission by ICC Chairman Victor Fung for a three year term. Mr Kanoria succeeds Lars Anell, Senior Advisor to the CEO of AB Volvo, who has chaired the Commission since 2002. The appointment was announced at the Commission’s meeting this week in Paris.
“I have enjoyed chairing the Commission over the years and am delighted to have Mr Kanoria succeed me as Chair,” said Mr Anell.
Mr Kanoria congratulated Mr Anell on his tenure as Chair and thanked the Commission for its confidence in him.
“I am looking forward to the support of all Commission members for pursuing ICC’s work in favour of the rules-based multilateral trading system,” said Mr Kanoria.
