DC Master includes 12 hours of online instruction and training in documentary credit practice

ICC has expanded its online trade training services with the launch of DC-Master. This new online training service, developed with technology partner Coastline Solutions, is aimed at experienced documentary credit professionals who wish to augment their knowledge in key areas of documentary credit work.

“Our online trade training suite has been used to train thousands of practitioners globally in the basics of Documentary Credits and Collections. DC Master can build on this success to meet the more advanced training needs of experienced trade professionals,” said Regina Prehofer, Chair of the ICC Banking Commission.

DC Master includes 12 hours of online instruction and training in documentary credit practice.

The course examines areas of documentary credit work that often cause difficulty such as silent confirmation, assignment of proceeds, financing, transferable credits and revolving and reinstatement credits.

DC Master uses interactive work simulation case studies to allow practitioners to hone their skills while learning the latest opinions and practices for handling and checking documents. The course assessment also allows users to test their ability to apply the key areas of practice learned within the course.

As the training is delivered online it can be taken at any time and from any location with Internet access. The course content is written by Gary Collyer, Technical Adviser to the ICC Banking Commission, and is consistent with ICC’s published rules, guidelines and opinions on documentary credits.

Each trainee also receives an ICC Certificate of Achievement on completion of the course and qualifies for 12 Professional Development Units towards Certified Documentary Credit Specialist re-certification.
